Installation

What to Expect on Installation Day

Installation day typically runs 8am–5pm for a standard system. The team works on the roof in the morning and in the loft and at the consumer unit in the afternoon. You do not need to vacate the property, but you do need to be available for the electricity to be briefly isolated.

What access we need

  • Loft access — cables run from the roof down through the loft to the inverter. Clear a path to the hatch if possible.
  • Consumer unit — the inverter connects here and needs to be accessible throughout the day.
  • Parking — two spaces near the property for the van and materials.
  • Driveway or garden space — for scaffolding equipment if required.

Will my power be off?

The supply will be isolated briefly — typically 30–60 minutes — while the inverter is connected to the consumer unit. We agree a time with you on the day and give advance notice. You are not without power for the full installation period.

Will there be mess?

Roof work creates minimal interior mess. Engineers use dust sheets in the loft. Cable routing through internal spaces is done carefully and finished with conduit where visible. At the end of the day the team clears all packaging and waste.

When can I start using it?

The system is commissioned before the team leaves — it will be generating data in your monitoring app by end of day. To register for SEG export payments, you need your MCS certificate, which we issue within a few days, and then contact your energy supplier to arrange metering.
